He was bred by La Querencia Stud. Saphukai is descendant of very old Cartujano lines.
Our best estimate is his Sire- Jaime is 14/16th" H",
and his Dam -Elvira is 4-5/16" H".(Terry/Cathusian/Bocado).
We believe Saph, as he is known at home, is the only entire left from his Sire: Jaime,1979(Dec 94).

Jaime- (15.2HH) A Multi Championship Winner Both in hand and Under Saddle,
Achieved his AHAA National Role of Merit ( ROM) in just 1 Year.
His Dam is the well known Elvira(Dec).
Elvira is the full sister to Este & Escamilla, also renowned Australian Bred Spanish mares.
Elvira's Sire is Hortelano VII (Imp)S059, who was a famous FEI dressage stallion
with Malcom Barns and stood at 17hh!
Elvira herself was one of 7 Full siblings from Esplendida IV & Horterlano VII.

Saphukai is a highly spirited stallion, extremely smart, with "unbelievable elevated movement".
To watch him at home dancing naturally Piaffe & Passage to his ladies is truly beautiful.
He just seems to lightly but powerfully float, off the ground like he has springs in his legs,
in slow motion, showing great energy,cadence & pride.

He's a tough,brave,bold stallion,"no show pony, no pretty boy",he loves mud and getting dirty, and he
has no fear of anything and he is extremely smart.
He is a very strong, compact ,muscular, athletic stallion and extremely fast and agile on his feet,
making him the ideal choice to breed for Doma Vaquera, Haute Ecole.
Saphukai was presented in the First Australian 2001 Spanish Stud Book Revision, with the
Cria Caballar and revised APTO and scored very well.
He was lightly shown with success when he was younger, in breed led and ridden classes.
He has had basic dressage training but is most at home trail riding, being cheeky playing games
& doing tricks with his mum. My true equine soul mate.
Annabella foaled Wed 3rd Feb,2010 a beautiful Dun/Grey filly.
We have named her Rylo Park Saphana. Saphana is very much like her sire, strong, compact, bold & athletic.
Bodega Park Contezza foaled on the 30th Dec 2012 a beautiful dark chocolate /Grey filly.
We have named her Rylo Park Saphyra. Saphyra is also very much like her sire.
Both fillies we plan to retain.

The multitude of names used to describe these horses can be very confusing.
For the most part the names, “Bocado,” “Carthusian,” and “Terry” are all used as to describe the same horses.
The Carthusian is the prototypical Spanish horse. He personifies the Warhorse Type.
The Carthusian is what you probably envision when you think about an Andalusian.
Carthusians are renowned for their Great beauty, their baroque roundness,
their abundant mane and tail, and their "sweet bold temperaments".
